Narendra Modi has called for ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday 22nd March 7AM to 9AM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the nation over the issue of the coronavirus outbreak, a global pandemic that has so far claimed the lives of four Indians and infected 173 across the nation. “This crisis has engulfed the entire human race. For the past two months, we have been watching with concern the news about coronavirus spreading across the world,” said Modi.
Prime Minister said that there are many brave people who are in the forefront of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic such as medical staff, police, government servants, airline staff, media persons, bus/train/auto operators and those involved in providing home delivery. To pay respects to their huge service to the nation during such trying times, he suggested that on March 22 at 5 PM, all citizens should acknowledge and salute their efforts by standing in the balconies and at the doors of their houses and clap or ring bells for five minutes as a show of appreciation.
Also Modi Said Acknowledging that salaried class and daily wage earner suffering, Modi urged the business community and higher income groups to look after the economic needs of those from lower income groups, from whom they take various services, urging them not to cut their salary on the days they are unable to render the services due to inability to come to the workplace. He stressed on the importance of humanity during such times.
Do not crowd the hospital for any non-essential treatment. Preferably, consult doctors on phone for minor ailments. Postpone your non-critical surgeries by a month so the burden on our hospitals and health infrastructure does not stretch them out
On March 22, from 7am to 9pm, all countrymen have to follow ‘Janata’ curfew. The success of ‘Janata’ curfew and its experiences will also prepare us for the challenges to come. Modi request the NCC, NSS, civil socities, and others to help enforce the curfew. Modi request all youth services to help make people aware of the curfew over the next two days. Call 10 new people and make them aware of the curfew.”
